Please if anyone would help me determine this noise...95" build 2004 FLHTI, just had new compensator put in, the noise is still there. The build is only a year old. What do you think is this rattle/vibration. The sound does go with the rpm and in neutral and in gear. I'm trying to download a video but I'm having no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
the build being a year old ....has it been making this noise ever sense ...or has it just started ???
what tuner are you running and just what all is in this build ...cams ,pistons , compression ratio ...head work ..etc...
if it's really bad ...pull the cam cover and check the chain adjuster shoes ...
rattles and vibration can be from alot of things ...too lean , too rich , ignition timing too advanced ...etc !!!

It has just started, and the build has everything done to it and dark horse did the crank also...it's a hard rattle, I wish I could upload the video for you, but it won't let me. I'm really at a loss.
I had Dark Horse do the crank in my bike. It was a year and a half ago. It seems their cleanliness in the shop left a little to be desired. I had lint all through my motor, and some of it got caught up in the oil filter. Some other pieces, ended up holding the oil pressure relief valve open. Bike rattled and made noise to no end, plus oil pressure wasn't the best. Try cleaning out the oil pressure relief valve. It worked on my bike. Now with oil pressure, everything is quiet. PM me if you want more info.
