I desire t clean up some small mark on my side panels. Are they painted or just shiny plastic? Can I use glaze, swirl removed or polish compound on them without scratching them worse.

 

Probably painted. Start with wax...then clay...and gradually coarser...and slowly...don't get overly enthusiastic!

 

They are painted. Use a med cut polish first then fine then wax.
