Yes, that. Sometimes one gets bored listening to the sound of the engine, or even music and I've found listening to some CB conversations can be quite entertaining.
When I go on long trips with my riding buddies, I find the CB a useful tool.

No doubt. I used to have that thing on the left and a cellphone bracket on the right. I finally got wary of all the distraction and removed all that crap. I need to get motivated and sell it as I have no intention of using any of it again.

I ride cross country a lot. They aren't really that great unless you are riding with other guys who have them. I have it but wouldn't miss it ..I had this bike 2 years ride every day and several cross country trips. Had one conversation.

Really? One conversation in 2 years!!!! WOW! That's unbelievable especially when riding with others with CB's. You must ride solo mostly.
You don't point out certain things while traveling with friends? Or asking for road info up ahead once in a while.

At least once on every ride we do, we check to see if everyone is OK with fuel or potty breaks etc. Mostly we talk about road hazards or securing changing lanes.

CBs, like many things, can be useful. I have gotten around traffic using CBs. GPS will never replace local knowledge of roads. I have also ridden in the rocking chair at 95 MPH on a dresser pulling a 'little red wagon'.

I use my cell phone all the time. I'm writing this post with it in fact. But I don't plan to mount it on my handlebars again and here's why. I cannot force myself not to look at it every time someone calls me, texts me, Facebook messages me,etc. No matter how hard I tried, every time the thing would light up I would catch myself taking my eyes off the road to see what it wanted. Good way to get myself killed. And yes, I don't plan to use the CB again. Want to buy it?

I would if I didn't already have the built in one and my new Zumo595. The Zumo I use 99% of the time compared to the POS Harley unit. If I had known how bad the H-D unit was I wouldn't have bought the bike in the first place. The GPS is what pushed me off the fence to buy the 2014 Rushmore.

I hear you about uncontrollably looking at the cell phone.

It was actually 23, but who's counting?

Once or twice a year, I get together with my buddies to ride and several of us have CB's. That's the only time I use mine. When you're riding in a group a CB is an invaluable tool to have.
