Default Lens cover loose.... why?

Have an 11 street glide. Was on a 6k mile trip and buddy noticed my lens cover was loose during a bike wash. Literally barely touched it and it fell to the ground. All the clips are still on the lens itself and I cleaned the groove around the light but stays loose. Will a new lens cover fix the problem or does anyone have one laying around they need to get rid of?

It's a taillight turn signal if that matters

My front turn signal popped off my 2012 SG when I brushed against it. Put back on and its been OK for 3 mos. They are pretty cheap at the dealer.

My '17 SG at 15,000 miles started losing those lenses. At just under 17K three of them have fallen off. HD says "that's unusual" my buddy says "yeah, I carry a spare".

I have 1 that fits lose since I changed to the black rear light bar. I wrapped some electrical tape on the mounting tabs and it firmed it up.

I have those lamps on my 2011 SuperLow, in fact they are used across the entire H-D model range. Never had any problems with mine. They simply snap in place, so it is possible a PO has damaged them, perhaps when replacing bulbs? Just a thought. If they were troublesome, they would be causing trouble across the whole of HDF!

OE or aftermarket part? The latter is significantly less expensive and ya get what you pay for!

A few dabs of clear RTV in the groove then pop it back in. That's held mine in for all these years.
