I love 'em. Hate chrome. For all the guys crying about not having a chrome version of the special you can. Buy a regular Street or Road glide, order the 6.5GT Boom Box, order a set of extended bag bottoms in your bikes color, order an inter fairing of your choosing, and finally get a color matched lower faring skirt and BAM......chrome Special. I bet you can even come out on top in the price game....unless you are one of them guys who pays someone to do everything for them.

Yeah you could but who wants to buy a bike, order/wait on parts, put it together and take the time .............. Customizing a bike is about personal touches not overhauls. BTW you forgot custom wheels

The person who wants a chrome Street Glide Special that's who. And yes I forgot the wheels.
My thinking is you can go either Blacked out, or Chromed out, the motor company lets you choose.
Myself as other Harley owners, I have personalized my Bike with some chrome front fork lowers.
Most of what I've done is to make the Bike comfortable to ride, like the extended footboards, and
extended shift levers. We all make these Bikes are own in some way or the other, don't we.
I do like that Harley has set the touring Specials apart form the Standards, by a blackout motif, and
different saddle bags.
Am I old school because I prefer Chrome, or dose that just make me old ? ?
i wouldn't buy a new street glide special unless i could get the chrome. wouldn't buy a standard streetglide because of the smaller radio. harley just limited their sales.
Come on people, look back to the roots of the MoCo. Bikes had little to no chrome, then chrome, then none, then some. Its all good. Some of You old school guys might need to refresh your history.
