We returned from Americade yesterday after a full week
If anyone wants great riding, the Anderondacs are amazing. Drove back through Lake Placid also.
My 05 ran like a top with my wife, all bags packed and a bag on top of the tour pack. .
Great people, great food and awesome runs mapped out. Riding through Vermont was like stepping back in "farm" time.
Definitely going again next year.
dant.... last time I was there up in that neck of the woods I was just a youngin for a summer vacation. What I do remember it is gorgeous up there. I'll put that on my list of events to go whenever I get back to the east-coast.
I came back from a family function in Albanyon Sunday and I couldn't believe how many bikes I saw on the road coming home from Americade. I was a bit jealous being in the truck.
I ain't been to it yet and it is as close to me as Laconia....I'm directly in the center of each one...about hour and half each way! I hear the Goldwings outnumber the Harleys at Americade and the you freaking have to pay to get in to see the vendors in the big building...WTF????
Huh? Who would pay to see a vendor so you can pay for their product? never heard that one before and can't see paying an entrance fee to buy something.
I did see a lot of Wings on the road though.
ORIGINAL: dawg
......and the you freaking have to pay to get in to see the vendors in the big building...WTF????
I just returned from 3 days at Americade. To me the adirondecks and vermont offer the best riding in the new england area (greenery, hills, twisities, streams, mom & pop shops and eatery's, no traffic).
Yes, they charge $10 a day per person to enter the vendor areas. Package deals are available, but it's still costly.
Lots of wings and trikes. Low key compared to other big rally's.
I've been there a couple times...its about 850mile ride for me through NB,ME,NH,Vt....I love the ride....and the rally is rather sane...but a lot of fun getting there.
