2008 Ultra Classic
I (might be) working a poss trade deal at my local dealer
Both my 00 Heritage (AND) the wife's 03.
Both cherry (03 only has 7K on it)
Trading 2 for 1 kind of makes me cringe.
The 08 Eg has 45K on it. VERY good cond.
Has the usual extras (has the Garmin GPS, Qk detach TP)
I rode it. Runs good. Stage 1, Rinehart mflrs.
I know the 09 up frame is preferred. I can do this trade and it would be a wash. (+ or - a few $ either way. Not crazy about the TBW, but I guess they all have it now.
Ideas . . . Thoughts? Oh, most important the EG is black (HA HA!!)
Love it.. I have a 09 street glide & a2010 ultra cvo.. the 08 ultra is my favorite..it rides the best out of all my tourg bikes.
I did change the engine in my 08 from the 96 to a 2016 new take out 103 @ 67k
Mainly cause I like power & got a great deal on the new engine.. the 96 is ok.. but the 103 is better.
I know all about the 09 & up frame changes.. the 08 rides better..
But, that deal sounds kinda fishy to me.
Personally I'd look into selling your two separately and look for a private party garage queen. A little more work on your part but I'd bet you'll end up with a better deal and bike in the end.
A quick search of Craigslist here found that your two bikes would bring in between $12k and $16k for the pair. And there were more than a couple of Ultra Classics in the '10-'12 models for $10k-$13k. Most loaded with extras and nearly all under 30k miles.

Put them out in front of your house with a For Sale sign and you'll fetch $16K for the pair without much problem, and then buy a garage queen of your favorite flavor.
But keep in mind that this is the time of year where it's tougher to sell than to buy. After both those bikes get sold, the particular bike you are craving may be down the road.
Your decision.
