2009 Model
I still think that if there is going to be a water cooled Harley baggerit will be in the V-Rod family. They just came out with the 96 engine, they're not going todump it that quick. They can have the best of both worlds by keeping the air cool Harleys and experimenting with thewater cooled V-Rods.
As restrictions by the EPA get tighter and tighter it's going to be really hard for Harley to keep their tradition of air-cooled engines. Moco will probably find away around it for the next few years because they know that most owners want to hold on to the tradition of the air-cooled engine. However, eventually (due to EPA restrictions) I'm afraidMoco will have to go to a liquid cooled engine on all their models, or at least some version of it. I too will hold on to my air-cooled Electraglide. Regardless, I would imagine that H-D will definitely have to make some changes to the engines in either the near or distant future. Just another example of how "Big Brother" is trying to control everything! Why is the EPA so concerned about regulating our bikes? They need to worry about trains, airplanes, diesel trucks, heavy machinery apparatus, smoke stacks at factory's, coal mines that deposit large amounts of toxic waste water into the ground, etc. Our bike emmisions are just a small drop in the bucket compared to these other things that pollute the air!
