Default Best sounding cams

while I’m on this hunt for a bit more out of my 204 cams running true duals .. I like the sound of the lope out of the 204’s

so is there any bolt in cams out there that would sound and perform just as good or better than a 204 ?

stock 08 96 also

Picking a cam because of the sound is a big mistake

Modern cam designers expend a lot of effort developing cams that give us greatly increased performance, while retaining mild manners. I suspect they would regard a 'noisy' cam as a failure! Have a word with Woods, or Hillside Cycle.

Maybe I’ll rephrase this

what cam will out perform the 204’s

im looking at
t man 555 tourqester
Dragos 565
woods 555

looking for low end all the way up and I’d like to keep it a 96 for now so I’d like a cam I can expand with

Since it is a low compression 96, you are already overcamed...48 is about the most ya can use.

Most of the high performing cams require compression and head work to flow with increased potential in the cam. As others have stated staying with the low compression 96" you are somewhere in the range of a Awdrew's 48 or woods 222. The 48 does perform very well but it doesn't sound like the 204 that you have.

I think I’m at the point where I’m just going to make it a 103 this winter and keep the 204’s for the 500 to 600 it will cost to bore it and buy some pistons I think that’s my best bet
