Unless you ride with and communicate with others that have the 30K, the technology is useless to you.
Agreed!
I do on occasion ride with others, not sure any of them have the 30K, maybe I'll start a club! :-)
Since I have upgraded to a new bike, might as well upgrade to the newest and bestest accessories, I bought a rear bumper yesterday, don't plan on using it, but, Ill put it on the bike.
They may pair, but they may not work after pairing. I paired my LG 1100 BT headset (which has the Aptx codec), but even after successfully pairing, I got no audio either from or to the bike via the WHIM BT pairing w/LG 1100 BT headset. YMMV
Going thru this myself, just added the WHIM and Sirius to my 18 TriGlide, had the Sena 10 which won't allow voice commands (or at least we were not able to get it to work) looked at the H-D 20s and Sena 20 s and or EVO, Found the Sena 30 k to have a little more functionality with the MESH system, probably won't use the feature but, I went with it anyway, I'll post up once I have a chance to put it into use.
Forgot to add cost: $980.00 for combination WHIM and Sirius installed at Dealership
$600.00 for Dual Sena 30 k
This might be the most expensive path and undesirable for some.
Umm......you might be upset to find that the Sena 30 will NOT give you stereo connected to the WHIM. Only the HD branded 20sEVO will provide stereo sound with the WHIM.

I bought the WHIM and the HD Sena dual sets from Boardtracker to save some cash. I just called my stealer to see how much they charge for the flash. Since I didn't buy the WHIM from them and let them install it, the flash charge is $99. Otherwise, they'd do it for free.
Tried it both ways, seemed to work best using the bike intercom for us. WHIM using Sena S20. Worked pretty much the same using our older Cardo Q3's also.
My headsets came paired from the factory. Do I leave them paired, or unpair them. Does it matter? I plan to use the harley intercom with them. Thanks
Just installed the WHIM and had the boombox flashed, I have a Sena 10s that pairs but I get no sound in the headphones and doesn't seem like the mic works to use for voice commands on the bike. Do I need to turn on the intercom in the boom settings or should it turn on automatically? Any help or suggestions with setting the Whim up the Sena or Harley configurations to get this working would be greatly appreciated.
To answer Dan's question, as well as I can: the headset will only connect paired to one device at a time. For instance, if I pair my 20s to my phone to use on my Beemer, I have to disconnect the phone before the headset will connect to the WHIM; then the phone will pair to the WHIM, the headset will pair to the WHIM and I play music from the phone, through the WHIM to the headset.
So I discovered that Andriod can dual output to my '16 RGS and my non Harley 20s. Music is synced perfectly and as long as volumes are set appropriately there's no weird sound issues. When I get calls, them come to my phone and I can answer them via the 20s.
Is there any reason that I should move to the WHIM and 30k?
