hot air temp ruff idling
going through 5 o'clock rush hour traffic. at idle it starts to run a little rough. the hotter it got the worse the take off and a lose of power. you can rev it in netrual and hear the lose the rough idle. then to take off it was heavy on the gas and feathering the clutch. anybody have this issue. basically the hotter it got the worse it got. i am not covinced to due the "parade" download until i actually hear from sombody who has it and they like it.
as you can tell from my sig about my setup.
my local dealer had $25 dyno today and saturday. just a dyno no tuning. 68hp, 74 tq. does this sound right? to me it sounds low. i made a comment that i thought the 96tc is higher. they said that is the at the motor. this is on the wheel. anyhow they also said it is running rich.
looking to get a hold of v h to change that
The dealer told me not to blip the throttle at idle in traffic and just let download do its thing. So far only just bairly notice a little 'bounce" at idlebetween .9 to 1 and seems to be cooler. If thats the only down side to download then might as well get it. its free the first time and free to remove the first time.
Example, when I have a bike in the shop idling, I have to keep the IAT below 125, or the bike will start to run like crap at 175.... Superheated air is terrible for the intake, so I have to have a fan circulating air over the motor and into the AC unit, to promote a good motor operation....
The Air Temp was 90, your motor was above 280, and no air movement over the fins, or down the intake tract.... How hot was the pavement????? Radiant heat is a bear....
i live in florida and finally got my bike back from the dealer. today was about 90 dg outside.

I haven't had the problem you're describing, even though our weather in S. LA is at summer levels already. I don't have the EMDL.
A setup like mine ('07 SG, Rush 1.75, K&N, PCIII) dynoed at 75 HP and 87 TQ, with TQ staying above 80 from 2k-5k. I am using this same PCIII map on my bike. There's no reason you shouldn't be around this level with a good tune.
This is my second summer of Phoenix riding. I've never had the heat management kick in. 90 is considered cool here in the summer.
I don't know if it being dry helps or not.107 on the way home today.
Very glad of my cool vest and mesh jacket.
Whoops! I don't have it in my sig anyomre.
Stage 1 and SE pipes.
what shovelhead bob says makes complete sense about the outside air.
i was wondering if having the basic slip ons is casuing me to loose some hp. have you ever looked down the tube of one? its basically a straight through shot. my neighbor has a set of ovals that he is going to let me use. do you think that will help with the hp?. after i change to the ovals i need to readjust the fuel pack. i wonder if this will take the richness out.

I doubt that your current mufflers are hoding you back that much, but your numbers are quite low. My 07 with PC111 a/c and ovals is 76/88.
From what I've seen that's about average. I think you just need a good dyno tune.
