How to remove drivers backrest
Ok, I hate asking the forum the question but I can't find another reference. I'm trying to remove this backrest so I can remove the seat. Adding a couple of pictures - maybe someone has one and can help.
If it is not a adjustable one, on mine, reach down the front and squeeze the tangs together and pull up.

Install is basically the reverse. Insert spring side at an angle into bracket, compress the spring and straighten it as you insert it.
Mine is not the adjustable kind either. My hands don't have the grip strength they used to, especially in that tight space. What I do to remove the backrest is to push it sideways to compress the spring, tilt it and lift it out. No squeezng involved.

that looks like the upper pivot at the back rest.... the cap screw adjusts the tilt of the back rest. Like others said, there should be two rods going into the seat you squeeze together and lift out. I think if you go online to the Harley site and look under parts, you will find the back rest. down below the pictures, there should be a tab that will show the install instructions... check that out and you should find how to release.

Thanks for the tips. I'm attaching a pic of the design just to confirm the mechanics for removal since I'm not having much luck and I'd rather not bust something

It’s either fixed or adjustable. Can’t tell from your pic. Is there a black button actuator on the left side just behind the engine and attached up under to the frame? If so, it’s adjustable. If not, it’s fixed. Adjustable is like the video I posted, fixed is like twosailin posted.
