I am going to install an adjustable backrest on my ultra. Removing the seat is the only thing i will need to remove correct?

After the seat is removed their are two self threading screws that hold the front of the backrest bracket on. That's all, just don't over tighten those two screws. They are the self tapping type in thinner metal.

It literally only took me 10 minutes to install may Mustand driver backrest. I spent more time adjusting it to Perfect in terms of up/down and front/rear.

I'm installing a adjustable back rest today myself. Was looking over the instructions yesterday and looks like a piece of cake.
I'll get to use my new inch-pound torque wrench/s.!

Default Road Sofa!

I installed the Harley adjustable drivers backrest on my 09 Road King. The only advice I would have to pass along would be to install the backrest base loosely (without tightening) at first and then take apart 1 bolt at a time to locktite individually before tightening. Great mod! I love my Road Sofa!

On my 2010 road king the two studs are mounted to a plate, the fender has two holes that the studs pass through from underneath, mine are/were not screwed into the fender. I replaced my stock with an extended Sinister fender, and reused the studs.

Yep. Depends if you have to mount the adjuster for the adjusstable one. Bout as easy as turning the ignition on and hitting the starter button.... and flicking the kill switch to run.
