OK.....maybe I'm just too stupid, I dunno......but try as I might, I cannot figure out how to remove my driver's backrest. \\; Even after purchasing a $60 manual for my 2000 UC, which doesn't mention the driver's backrest, only the passengers!
I just purchased a new "reach seat", so I have to remove my Road Zepplin Air Adjustable seat, but in order to do that I need to remove the driver's backrest.
Will someone PLEASE enlighten me and tell me how to do this! \\; I found a pushbutton on the backside, but it only seems to adjust the beackrests height.
Thanks!!!!
slide your fingers down the backside (passenger) of the backrest post. there is a springloaded tab, push to the rear of the bike and pull up on the backrest
I've found the spring loaded button on the back of the backrest, and I pushed in on it and lifted the backrest, but it only seems to adjust the height of the backrest. \\; No matter how hard I pull on it, it only goes so far, then stops. \\; I also cannot seem to remove the cover, so I can see what I'm pushing on.
It never fails, something so simple seems so hard!!
You have to slide your hand down into the crack in the seat where the post goes into the mounting bracket. Your hand will run into a spring loaded bar that must be pulled slightly to the rear to release the post.
GOT IT!!!
Thanks for the help!! \\; I didn't realize why it wasn't working, until I got a good look in there with a flashlight. \\; The previous owner had it ZIP-TIED with a narrow black ziptie!! \\; Once I cut it, it came right off !!!
Thanks for the help!!
