Hi all
Just upgraded my speakers and used some metra speaker adapters.
It says to remove the small fairing supports and not replace them - is this correct?
Wont the fairing be a lot weaker and break ??
Pic of brackets i mean below.
I added the adapters earlier this year too and recall being confused by this. I was able to reuse the brackets after installing the speakers, my thought was it would be better with than without. I dont recall having to modify anything to use again, maybe on a different speaker hole or the adapter itself.

I think the aftermarket plastic braces are the vertical ones. These are the horizontal outer ones that tie into the vertical. I would expect to attachment points to be the same. The more ive thought about what I did, im sure I used the multitude of extra holes on the adapter to attach the one end then attached to the original point on the vertical unit
I replaced the inner fairing on an 05 Ultra that was wrecked, The brackets were both bent and I didn't replace them, as I was short on time before taking off on a trip. That was 2 years & many miles ago. at speeds above 80 I get some very slight vibration/flex in the fairing, not enough to cause concern.
Plan to paint or powder coat the front forks this winter, will probably install brackets when I'm putting it all back together.
Hi
I was thinking these - wonder if they fit the steel main bracket.
On your own there. In my mind, easier to form, bend and tweak as needed the metal brackets removed if you decide you need. For me, I was skeptical of an aftermarket speaker design team to say you don't need a brace the moco design team thinks you do that's why I made mine work.

Good point - i will modify the old brackets and refit them.
Thanks for the help, it is appreciated.

Those brackets are pretty flimsy to start off with, when I installed my BT 7.1 speakers and adapters i mangled my brackets to fit. (And siliconed everything in place o prevent movement.)
