Default Nose of seat doing aerial exercises

17 Ultra Limited. 5'11; 205lbs

So, I bought a HD Tall Boy seat last year. I love how it moved me back, but has me sliding around too much especially when slowing down. But the part I could not ever understand was ...............the nose of the seat doesn't seem to sit flush with the tank. It kinda points upward a little and when I sit on it, it's as if the pan bends and the nose points up even higher. Could also be that the slot, in the nose of the seat, is a bit too large and isn't allowed a tight snug fit with the tab on the tank.

When I demo'd the seat, I figured the demo seat was just worn out and a new one would be tight. lol

I'm waiting on my Mustang Summit and backrest to arrive this week (ordered today) and will hold on to the tall boy because it's not a bad seat. Just wondering about the pan and/or nose on the tall boy and thought to ask here.

Sounds like the nose of that seat is made for west coast riders...

I have had minor seat fitment issues similar to what you describe. Bend of the nose or tab usually fixes it.

Is the front of the seat hooked in?

I've seen that. Seems to be related to the difference in length of the various gas tank consoles.

Yeah, it's hooked in. I can actually slide my hand under the nose and lift up and down and it's definitely secure.......I think its what foxtrapper said ....sometimes the mass produced item just has variances that aren't always perfect with other max produced items. But that dang pan is like the cheapest mess I've ever seen.

Maybe I can send it to the west coast like grand mentioned!!!

I bought a SG seat once, said "barely used" and it was loose on the front. I noticed the plastic receiver slot was wallered out. I suspect it was from getting on and off the bike from some fatass, I mean larger person that "plopped" onto his bike. So I would suggust measuring the male tab and female slot and you might have to make some kind of metal support, kind of like what your house door striker does for your door.

Stay away from HD seat's. So many better aftermarket options available.
