Default Yes...Another Sears Yellow Jack Thread

I purchased the Sears Yellow Jack based upon discussions here on the HDForum. It does the job, but be very careful when your bike is on the jack when suspended. Absolutely use the tie-down straps. Even with the tie-straps in-place do not, I repeat, do not put your weight on the bike to stand up and do not lean on the bike. The jack armflexes kind of severely depending where the moment gets shifted. I almost had a problem when my next door nieghbor decided to lean on the jack while I was sitting next to it on Saturday. Be advised.

Do not want to turn in to a free for all. I have been reading all the cautions relative tothe yellowjack. Almost seems like a accident waiting to happen (or happened).

Personally I went with the Don Shalla Super Jack. Hasa very low profile for my SG and and a very stable platform. Two locking casters and US made quality. Not a plug just mentioning the right piece of equipment for the right application

Expensive yes, but its for my Harely Street Glide.

Always keep two on the ground.

Well when free weighted in the air any jack is going to flex a little. I have removed my front end, rear tire, sat on and even started my bike on my yellow jack with ZERO tiedowns (in fact have never uses tie downs) and feel completely ok with it. I think some people are little over paranoid when it comes to their bike. Hell I push mine around the garage too on it.

I got the yellow jack and it can be a little unnerving sometimes but it always has proven reliable.I alway use tie down straps with it. I did forget oncethat I had raised the jiffy stand. When I lowered the bike, the jack with the tie downs kept it up. I was impressed.

There are probably sturdier lifts. However, my criteria required that it be under 70 lbs. so it could be mailed to an APO.

I just got the yellow for my B-day. I had the bike up in the air to clean it. I kept the front wheel on the ground, until it came time to clean the front wheel. It did seem shaky, at first. But, it did the job just fine. I am happy with it. But, like with all things, take precautionary measures, and you will be fine.

I also use the Sears Yellow Jack, But only to put the bike on a Stand. I got this one from Harbor Freight for 40 bucks and I like it a lot.

Isolated01,
I like that dolly you got there, maybe you should start a post about them!J/K.So I guess that the jack fits between those top bars and you just let the bike down on it?
I can see where it would be great for extended wrenching periods. Do you use it just for washing also?

Oh yeah, not meaning to H/J the thread, I also have a Sears yellow jack and have yet to use it. Just got it for Father's day, buy I do like it! It's nice and light, I know that because I've had to move it out of my way 3 or 4 times already.
