Default Suspension help needed!!!

I’m almost done with my 98 Electra glide that I inherited from my father, today I removed the front wheel for cleaning an a new tire. The front end seems very soft so I started to look around and it looks like someone at some point cut the air lines to the front shocks and plugged the rear shocks, not sure why someone would do this? I rode

the bike a couple times when I was in fl visiting my dad and it seemed fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Thanks

Either replace the line or buy different shocks that would be much better and not require the air. The line can be had from HD or a medical supply store. Does your handlebars have the air fittings where you have air up front?

I didn’t see a fitting anywhere up front just the cut line, where would it be? Maybe I missed it.

A look at a parts fiche indicates a 98 Electra did have front fork air assist. There should be a manifold that hooks your rear shocks to the front. Your bars might have the air reservoir as well.

I just looked and it must have been removed because I can’t find anything but the 2 front lines, T-fitting and the one cut line coming out of the T-fitting.

I'm taking a guess the seals are shot and they won't hold air. u can rebuild or relace the front, the rears are junk even when they work id replace those.

Great more money. Lol
Any suggestions on fork replacement? Can I upgrade to newer? Anyone know what years fit? I know if I go newer is an option I’ll have to replace the wheel and brakes.

You said you rod the bike and it seemed fine. Why mess with it? maybe the front has been changed internally?
