Well, traffic was very light, Tri-State was in great shape, about 30 minutes each way, no sweat. Looks like a lot of folks stayed home, since it was nothing like the usual rush hour.
Show was okay, was disappointed that J&S didn't make it. I had wanted to see their jack in action. There's a chance I might have got one.
Good to see the Baker booth, though, and introduce myself to Mark there.
Little hint for anyone still going to the Rosemont show. If you happen to want to have a light lunch or a few beers, park on the Rosemont Park ( http://www.rosemont.com/thepark/ ) side and have where ever you drink or dine validate your parking. The lots are connected and it's just a slightly longer walk.
Yeah I am looking at the shark modular helmet. Entertaining the idea of going to a full face but like the modular style of the shark helmets. Nobody seems to carry that brand and since I wear a half helmet now, I need to put on a full face to see if I can even stomach it.
RFG, shark did not have an official display but cyclegear store had the evoline 3 helmets. I was able to ty them on and to my surprise it wasn't that bad. I ended up getting matte black for 255 before taxes, retail 319.
I am pretty happy I went on friday, it was not packed at all; a good turn out but not crowded like Saturday and Sunday will be. I was able to have conversations with any booth I wanted so that was good. Did not buy much which was good but helped me with some decisions on what I might want to get this season.
HD had two large booths, one for a Chicago dealer and the other for HD. It was nice to sit on a few bigger baggers for me; didn't influence me to upgrade but always fun to sit on expensive toys.
They had a motorcycle custom show perse so custom bikes lined the walk ways. Below are some of those bikes.
All in all it was a good show and I'm glad I went.
I go to the Mpls show every year. This year it was early because of the SuperBowl being in town. Going gives me a reason to get out of the house. I usually run into someone I know. This years show was about the same as past years. I like all motorcycles and it gives me a chance to sit on most of them, all at one place.
I used to go to swapmeets, but they kind of disappeared (around here) due to the internet.
Next up the 'Donnie Smith Custom show'. Never miss that one either!
Yep...too bad about J&S Jacks not making the show. Something must have happened since they were listed on the vendor list and on the floor plan map that was on display. Perhaps the weather was a factor since they drive down from the Appleton Wisconsin area. I bet that IF you contact them they may still offer a "show price".
I liked the general floor plan of this years show. The crowd (or lack of) on Friday made for a very enjoyable show. I'm sure the vendors wanted more people but it was great for us visitors. I'm sure today (Saturday) will be a "zoo".....tha's why I always go on Friday.

Yeah, I called them to confirm that they weren't at the show, the guy said it was "the storm". He offered 10%. It was a week or so ago the web site offered 10% and free shipping, so that didn't sound special, on top of the fact that I wanted to see the jack in action.
Hope the rest of you stopped at Baker and said hi to Mark.
