Trading
I recently got the urge to get a 2007 Road Glide. Right now supply is really short and most in stock are black. Beautiful color but not for me. I have a 2001 FLHPI Road King, Sinister Blue and Diamond Ice, Screamin Eagle A/C, S&S 510Gs, Hooker 2-1 and PCII. Bike was bought new, never in police service. Two dealers told me they couldn't give me much for it ($6000) cause it would be hard for them to sell a bike with 64K miles. Bank will loan $11,500 on it. I have a fairing and lowers so trading up won't really give me much more than the six speed and cruise and all for $19K.
I just picked up an 07 Roadie, Never been on a HD before I piked it up. I was Jap Bike Rider for a long time mostly because of the way the HD market place is. I LOVE my new Roadie but I have to tell you I spent many a night before buying trying to rationalize the cost etc.. and I couldnt. I just bought it and said I work hard so I should have something to enjoy from the fruits of my labor. As far as trades, My buddy hade 3year old Heritage Soft tail(350 miles on it) and got 10,500 from the dealerin trade, just so happens another buddy of mine accidentlally bought it the next weekend for 14,900.00. I guess what I am trying to say is there are no bargains and now that I own oneall I can do is try to appreciate the fact that the way this is all handled by HD keeps the value up for the owners. BUt even more for the dealers.
6k seems very low. I can understand a lil based on milege but... 6k seems way low. would guess you should get somewhere around 9k for the bike. With it having fairing and lowers on it. craigslist or ebay might be options you might want to entertain
nada shows up to $11,500. i definitely will sell likely when 08s start to get plentiful. i like to buy in Winter when the salesmen are hungry. I buy my convertibles then too. There were only 5 police bikes in alabama in 2001 painted sinister blue and diamond ice. it's real close to the blue and white new orleans bikes. i can park anywhere in the french quarter and everyone stays clear of it. LOL.
Yeah, ride it for the season, and sell it in Sept/Oct. Then wait a month and drop by the dealer and pick up the bike you want. Maybe you will even get a nice used one, and save yourself some coin. JMHO
