Hello. Does anyone have HD's new Tall Boy Handlebars on a Electra Glide M/C? I installed Wild1's 575 on my Street Glide and they brought my hands back closer to me alittle more then my liking. These new Tall boys are 1.5 inches taller and 2 inches further then the stock bar's. Does anyone have any experiance with these new bars? thx, Rich A
If you're talking about the "Touring Pull Back Handlebar" part # 55914-98, I think I'm about to put a set on my 2007 SG. I'm 6'1" and long arms, but I knew before I purchased that I might need bars that come back closer to me. Lower back hurts after about 30 minutes. Rider backrest (after adjustment - made new extension so backrest is back as far as possible) helps, but after a long ride this weekend with new Kuryakyn Extended Cruuise Arm Mark IV hiway pegs and rider backrest, I'll know whether I need to change bars.
Before I bought mine, a guy who had customized a 2005 EGS had these bars powered coated black and they made a world of difference, putting bars exactly where I want them.
If you're not talking about "Touring Pull Back Handlebar" part # 55914-98, give me a part # so I'm not missing anything.
Sorry guy's, you misunderstood me. I'm speaking of a new product HD has to offer, part number 56964-07. They don't bring the bars back, they set them forward so you need to reach alittle more, two inches further then stock to be exact. I don't know, maybe it's from running drag bars so long on other bike's. I like having my hand's out in front of me. The stock SG bars wern't so bad, but after installing the 575's, they brought my hands way to close. These bars I'm talking about HD call's the Tall Boy Bars.......Rich
hey rich, it's good to see you back in here. it's been a while. i didn't know about a new bar for the touring models. you're saying that they move your grips further forward? wow, i'm 6'4" tall=long arms, and i feel like it's almost a reach to my stock streetglide bars. i usually set the cruise control and use one hand to ride, twisting my torso to reach the grip comfortably. hope all is going well for you, my friend.
