Oh boy...I was really hoping for a ‘yes, that’s normal’ answer....

can you be be a little more specific on what in that picture need to be removed and replaced? And....is this getting out of my league already?

What I circled (inner race) needs to be replaced as well as your inner primary bearing which is in the inner primary you removed.

I cut it diagonally with a dremel tool......then split it with a chisel......came right off. But BE CAREFUL and don't go all the way through and hit the shaft!!!

Used auto type dental tools to remove the seal behind it and used a 1" piece

of PVC to install like said earlier.

Instead of replacing that bearing, I used this.....https://bakerdrivetrain.com/products...ue-bearing-kit

Thanks. I think going the tool route is going to be best...I see potentially bad scenarios if I start trying to cut stuff. That being said, does anyone rent this type of tool that you’re aware of?

now, that baker product you linked is what replaces the bearing that is in the inner primary housing, correct? Getting the two bearings mixed up a little...

That Baker high torque bearing won't work on your 2009. It is only for bikes up to 2007.

Just get the bearing and race from the dealer.

didn't know about the 2007 and under part........I HAD to cut my bearing as it walked INBOARD and the tool couldn't grab the back side of it.

Just so I can make sure I get the terms/pieces right...."bearing" is the one that fits in the inner primary housing. "Race" is the longer piece that I either cut or remove with tool.
Thanks.
