Default 10" Apes Questions

Good Morning All, I have a few questions about 10" apes. I wanted to know if I will need wire extension plus will it affect my stock mirrors? (visibility)?? What would also be good apes to get?? I have a 2014 FLHXS. TIA

I have Chubby Wild 1s 10" mini apes on my 2012 Ultra and they are great. I had the wiring ran inside the bars so there's nothing exposed other than the clutch and break cables. When I had the bars installed I opted to go with new braided cables for the look but I don't think there was any extension of the rest of my cables. I'm fairly sure you can go with 10"ers without needed to extend any of the cabling. Someone else will likely chime in on that to be sure. Regarding the mirror positioning - taller bars raise the mirrors. My visibility improved drastically. I used to see my shoulders in about half the mirror. Now I only see the road and just a sliver, if any, of my shoulder. Hand and arm positioning in relation to my shoulders is great too. I'd never go back to stock. Hope that helps some.

if you go with 12" bars, you can still use the fairing mounted mirrors. Just have to lift your elbow a little, and look under your arm

10” Yaffe Monkey Bars block the stock fairing mirrors, but keep your hands just below the top of the fairing. Riding in cold weather as we often do here, that is a blessing. Wiring extensions aren’t necessary, but I bought them because it just makes the install easier.
