hello I purchased a used odometer from an 08 street bob with the integrated clock, to replace my 06 street bob odometer without a clock. how can I set the odometer to my correct mileage
You're going to need to talk to your local HD Dealership. Most likely, if even possible, it will need to be sent to the factory to be programmed. I know you can buy new/replacements from HD and they come programmed.
If it can be done, it will most likely need to go back to HD, assuming the used item you bought was on a bike previously for more than 30 miles (I believe).
There are instructions and YouTube videos available showing how to replace the speedometer unit, for example, with the new unit that has the speedo and a one unit, and they state that after installing the new unit, the procedure captures the odometer reading from the bikes computer, and after riding for I believe 30miles, the unit is flashed to that bike....
You can't... Harley won't mess with it unless you bought a new one. I can't remember what year (Maybe 2014 and up), the mileage is stored in the ECM. Pre 14 (again, I don't remember the exact year), the mileage was store in the odometer.
ECU's and instrument clusters when new can be programed to any mileage, so if a customer with a 50K mile bike needs a new speedo HD can program the new speedo to the bikes current mileage.
once the speedo or ECU passes 100 miles its locked and cant be changed, even by HD
