With respect to gaskets. Both S&S and Fuel Moto use Cometic gaskets in their big bore kits. Bob Wood uses them in his RCC Conversion Kits as well. I've used them in at least a dozen builds with no issues.

I have used the Cometic Primary kit..very pleased withe product.

I had similar issues w/ a non-OEM gasket on a 05 primary cover years back. I ended up re-using the 8 year old OEM one and it worked great go figure.

HD ones aren't cheap though....I think the primary gasket for my 08 FL was $20 if not more.

Stator for the Win! Stator is fried, so I went ahead picked up the HD gaskets. 18 years old and I don't know the previous owner, so I decided to it would be better to just replace them.
