I can't get enough of these forums. I've spent the last hour plus reading up on T-Bags, Kuryakyn and the HD Tour Packs. I have an 06 Black Pearl (paint makes it faster...)Street Glide that I plan on taking on a 1200+ mile trip in October with my gal. She knows how to pack but I usually take enough to last me incase I don't want to come back...I'm also going to start riding the bike back and forth from Indy to Columbus, OH (about 3 hours each way) a couple times a month instead of driving my beater. Really looking at something I could fill up with work junk, throw on the passanger seat and go with...
Anyways, I'm looking for suggestions and hopefully Street Glide pics with "luggage" if you have them. I currently don't have a luggage rack but would want one I could take off in a hurry after adding it if I need to go that route.
First vote, King pack. The King is the only way to fly. Granted the chopped would look better on the Street Glide but after having a King, don't think I could ever do without one.
King TourPak is a nice way to go... But Very $$$$ (even used - has anyone priced HD Matching Paint @ $260.00 per pint??) + the hardware for the install!!!
But for just Throw & Go - I would have to say "T-Bag" !!!
If I could get out on the rod a little easier the tour pack would be my first pick. I'm leaning toward one of the bags though. Post pics of yours if you have em on a Street Glide!
look at a nelson riggs ultra tour bag model 950,just bought one for our rk classic and love it....it mounts over your back rest and sits on the luggage rack...pleanty of space to pack for two...
I've got a rally pak. It will hold a lot of stuff, but it is a pain to strap on, so I'm looking for something else. I'll probably look at t-bags or nelson rigg.
You can see a picture of it on the bike in my profile. I didn't even have a luggage rack in that picture. It does work a little better now with a rack.
