air it up... forget the 40 psi thing especially if u 2 up or are a big dude... i run 43 rear in my oem dunlops...that will help with the cupping on your replacement... this tire is done...stay away from the longer lasting harder compounds like the commanders.... last longer for sure but no grip...feel every pebble in the road...
Have to agree with u UL, you'd hear the bearings if it were that bad before tire wear.
yep... or feel the side to side movement or scratching sound in the wheel when manipulated on a jack...bearings do go bad for sure but it is really not that common...90% of the time in my experience, tire cupping is related to air pressure or overloading the bike...or camper...or trailer..or etc... seen it a bunch on front and rear tires in many scenerios
The reason tires often wear unevenly, left side more than right, is because roads are capped (i.e., convex) to shed water to the sides. When you ride straight up on a capped road, you are ridding on the left side of your tire.
Tire cupping is caused primarily from low tire pressure - this allows more flex in the sidewall than engineered, designed, and tested. Google is your friend.
I'm as OCD/ADHD or whatever alphabet abbreviation you want to use but to me, safety items are a no-brainer. The main cause is low pressure allowing flex.
