Default Need new shocks

I usually ride 2 up on my 2012 Street Glide. I'm 280 lbs and the wife is 105. I'm looking at the Progressive Suspension 944-4020UT (heavy duty). Amazon says these do not fit my bike. I look in the reviews and see where people have put them on their Street Glides. I want to be certain they fit before I order. I also want to keep my bike at stock height. Anyone have any experience with these shocks?

The standard 944's will lower your bike 1 inch but have the full travel. I have them on my road king and I am still up in the air over them.
If you do not want any lowering then look elsewhere.....

Or just get 1" longer. I cannot remember but I think stock is 12" so 13" gives the same ride height. If I remember right Progressive has a chart on their website by model. I had 944's on my 1999 Ultra and really liked the ride quality improvement over the stock air shocks. No more spine jarring over every little crack.

SG are 12", Ultras are 13"; IMO call and discuss with the folks at Pro-Action in PA. They make a quality product and can explain exactly how you can attain what you want...same height, increase travel and ride. I've actually been thinking about their 14" with adapter giving much more travel and same height (this is through DK (http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/pro-...kg-special.htm)

Pro-Action proved to be an excellent choice for me on the last two bikes. Very pleased with ride and improved handling.

Call George or DJ and let them explain what makes them good. Well worth the call.

Good luck

Progressives ride like a brick, very stiff shock for the money.

Went with the progressive 933's heavy spring. Absolutely love them. As for the fit, go to progressives (or any company you decide) website directly. I've come to the realization that amazon and a few others are not always correct. Especially if there is a difference in the part for example, height. If they are 12" and you require a 13" to meet stock, then they will say it won't fit. But if you are looking to lower, then of course they will work. I ran into that with mine. Progressive said they would fit, but amazon and J&P cycles both said no. But I was looking to lower an inch from stock height. After talking to a tech from progressive found out they fit perfectly fine.
