Interesting thread guys. And you are welcome for the pics and write up on my install. I just picked up a couple of H4 connectors as I want to replace the one on my Harley. It came with 18 AWG or gauge wire. It will only be a splice in replacement of an inch or two of wiring. I checked wire charts and current capabilities and found for very short runs, 18 AWG stranded wire will carry 10 amps of current @ 12 VDC. So I looked up the current of the Sunpie LED headlight and it is 3 amps at 12 VDC, so it will be more than safe. Here is some more info below on the Sunpie LED headlight off their website:

If 2014 & 2014+ Harley Davidson Touring and Trike models, you need an adapter plug (harness) to install
For what its worth, the Sunpie was completely plug and play on my 99 RK.
I am a little surprised that a newer bike needed a pigtail spliced in, or redone.
Needed redone because previous owner damaged the H4 connector when he installed wires for under the tank and fender LED light strips. That is the reason I am replacing it as the H4 connector is cracked and the wires are just twisted and taped. The new connector will have wires soldered, heat shrunk, and be safe. I hate it when someone cobbles up a wire connection. If the previous owners would of kept his hands off it, it would be just a unplug and plug in process, just like yours!

Just did my Sunpie installs on our 2013 FLHTC. All wiring was direct plugins, no cutting required. I did some brightness testing using a Lux App on my phone for before and after comparisons and omfg what a difference in numbers. Will be taking a night ride in the next few days to see how it lays out but has to be better than stock; we did a short ride the other night, which we dont do many of, but as I was riding along a corn field back road, I knew I needed better. A day later we were riding along and another bike rides by with some form of daymakers and my wife says "We need those" yup we do.
I will try and add more photos for a night view sometime. Heres what I got, the look and raw data. Measurement of light was taken at 12', with spots on for all readings...Low then high beams.

Any issues with your install? I am waiting for the set that I ordered to arrive. From your app, that is a major difference in the lighting. Thanks!
Only issues with set I purchased was the headlight adapter bucket (some use their own stock unit and modify). The provided one caused issue with chrome trim ring (stock one under my visor asm). The light adjuster on the right was covered up by ring and the screw at the bottom needed a larger size. Since mine sits under the visor ring, so no big deal for me to modify. Others will just have to adjust headlight with ring off.
Greg,
Thanks for the LUX readings. That is very interesting and promising to help be seen better from the front of the Harley! Appreciate you taking the time to post your results!

Well I got my lights..so I figured I'd start with the passing lamps since they're supposed to install quite simple. Not here..there's a smaller metal ring that fits around the back of the OEM light when you take it out. Doesn't fit properly around the Sunpie passing lamp and prevents the outer trim ring from fitting properly when putting it back together. Pushes the light out too far and the exterior trim ring won't seat in where it's supposed to. Tried it without the interior piece, but then the lamp is loose.

Does the sound familiar? Thoughts anyone?
Yes that's exactly what happened to me. I finally sent Sunpie a message and this is what I got back.
Hi, our running lights are universal, and they may be thicker than your stock ones, you can cut the back little by little to make them fit, thanks
I finally got them in with the help of my very mechanically inclined girlfriend.
