05 FLHT backrest install headaches
i just installed a passenger backrest on my 05 FLHT for my ole lady and the kit is a pain in the ***. the same kit fits a group of different bikes and years and has alot of hardware with it, much of which i didnt need. the instructions suck also. not very detailed. took me quite a while to figure out how it mounts to the bike. HD only. no aftermarket kits out there. in my corner of the planet HD stands for HUNDREDS of DOLLARS. kit was $300.once again HD comes through for the customer. so beware of HD mounting kits. my advice is to look at another bike with the kit already on it. toss the directions and look at the drawing of the parts breakdown. and good luck, unless youve done one before you will probably need it.

ps that's one of the few things that i MIGHT have done at the dealer. on second thought, nah, just smoke another cig.
