I cant tell you how many times I've had my heart about jump out of my chest thinking my Harley was going to drop because of that. It hasn't yet!

Wow great info thanks. The video really shows how it holds when she moved the bike. I'm going to try that and see. I did tighten everything up on the stand just for peace of mind.

As suggested confidence comes from understanding how the jiffy stand design is constructed and operates?

Support the bike on a J&S or similar. With the bike supported, examine the jiffy stand in the extended and retracted position. - note the locking 'tab' at the top and the bolt that secures it?

With the bike supported and the jiffy extended, pull the jiffy stand away from the bike - simulating the operation of extending it to support the bike.in normal operation.

Note how the tab becomes 'trapped' preventing the jiffy from retracting - as long as the bike is leaning, 'left'.

Also note that correct 'locking' operation depends on the bolt securing the 'locking tab' being torqued down! If it loosens? Disaster!

Caution: If u use J&S or similar be cautious of having the Jiffy stand fully extended before lowering the bike! Else? Disaster!

Also known as the "Harley Heart Attack"! I agree it's a good design, many other makes don't have that locking feature.
