I use redline products. But I decided to try a atf. After a while it acted up. Changed the oil and all was good again. Do not know why.
do an oil change first.

Before spending money on new parts, change the oil.go back to redlne heavy in the tranny,it solved my 08 ultra neutral issue when hot.Use a primary specific oil in the primary. There are many out there, amsoil, redline, spectrol or any quality 10-40 weight oil. From your post i get the impression you used redline heavy shockproof in the primay,DON'T! Redline makes a primary spacific oil that works great.Although for the primary i don't think its necessary for 15 to 20 dollar a quart oils.

Any bike I have owned gets the heel shifter removed immediately. I have always found it easiest to get a bike into neutral by moving my foot as far forward as possible as opposed to using my toe as I would shifting between gears. This coming from 1st gear of course.
