Got back from ride and have been noticing when I roll on the trottle pretty hardIget a noise that sounds like a pebble or pebblesclanging around inside my fenders. Bike pulls really good and no other issues..
Don't know what it is or where it's coming from.....any ideas? Should I be worried.....could it be some kind of spark knock or something? I stops as soon as I let off the throttle a little.
I know the "rocks in a can noise" I get it when I lug it so I don't think that's it. Maybe the gas? Although I've noticed it the last couple of gas tank fillsbut fromdifferent gas stations..... 92 octane... Been using Speedway and Sunoco the last couple of times....
Try a fuel additive to bump up the octane level to see if it goes away. Shouldn't be getting detonation at 92 octane, but who knows. If it goes away, then you at least know what it is.
Well first it is stock or been retuned.
Next before you add any additives, check all the pipes and shields for tightness.
These will give the same sound symptoms.

How's the engine react with low octane fuel?
Every time i put Sunoco 93 in it knocks like a mother. It's the Damn ethanol they use in their gas. At one time Sunoco was very good gas, no more. I use Hess when ever possible.
It sounds like detonation I had that on my 07 road king put a SERT on and had it dyno tune the noise went away try two PCIIIs and it was still there the hotter it gets the worse it will get.
You were saying its coming from the fender? If it sounds like the front of the bike you might pull the headlamp trim ring off. theres a little wire clip that keeps it from rattling around. if the clip falls off it rattles like a SOB inside that ring but usually only when your on the throttle.
