Hello!
I have a 2017 RG without lowers. I fully understand the aerodynamics of a shark head. I have a 10" Windvest windshield. At highway speed I get a lot of wind up from around the tank. Now this is funny, if I squeeze my legs against the tank it helps. If I spread my legs a bit it gets terrible. Although the wind feels great on my junk on a super hot day it makes my glasses a little bouncy.
Anybody tried this from HD? Road Glide Wind Deflector Kit
I got those on my 2013 RGU, came with the bike. I took them off for giggles and grins, a lot of turbulence behind the fairing, they went back on as soon as I got home. The way HD hyped the "new" fairing from "13 to "15, I thought MOCO had this all figured out. On my model the air is redirected from between the forks up between the tank and fairing. That creates a dead space behind the windshield and at the operators position.
They also come stock with new Road Glide Ultras. However, I havent used them yet.
Did they not come ON the bike?
had them on my RGU as well and believe they do help.
I however swapped mine for the DK Customs deflectors paired with the deluxe tank lift. I believe they work about the same, but with the tank lift I believe my heads are getting more air. Went for a couple hundred yesterday in the Illinois Wisconsin border area and it was HOTT, but my legs and crotch will tell you it was as cool as theyve ever been on a day like that.
