Default amsoil 75w140

I am currently using HD Formula+ in tranny and I am getting tired of the clunking in and out of gears. The way I see the tranny is no different than a typical manual gear box so I am thinking of using Amsoil severe gear 75w140.I am looking to find out if anybody has tried it or have an opinion.

Thanks.

I put 75-140 Mobil 1 in my 07 tranny. Seems to shift into neutral easier.....didn't really have a problem before switching to the synthetic gear oil.

Probably don't need the heavy stuff in your '05, and 75w90 should do fine. I use 85w140 (not Amsoil) in my '07 to quieten the noisy gearbox. It worked.

I just switched to amsoil 75w-90, tonight. Took it out for a ride, and really seemed to shift smoother. I will be going for a longer putt tomorrow. After I get another o ring and a quart of fluid for my primary. I f*cked up the new o ring and was getting a drip, and then two, three..You get the idea.

Anyways, for the 30 minute ride I had, the 75w-90 seemed to work well.

Not too sure what weight I have in mine, but I went with Bel-Ray Gear Saver. It really did make a difference in my tranny. HAGO... Remi

The clunking when shifting is characteristic of a Harley- Davidson transmission and they have been doing it forever. I love the sound of my motorcycle clunking into gear. It's the sound of a very fine andserious piece ofmachinery. I would be highly disappointed if it was quiet.

Then don't buy an 07 because the fith gear might be noisy, but the shifting is smooth and quiet!
