looking for feedback from those that are running either one of these kits without crank work and if you have had any issues.
I would like to know how many miles you have on the kit and if you are pleased with the performance.
please state whether you have head work and what cam you are running.
also, state whether you are dyno tuned or running a canned and/or auto tuned map.
dyno sheets are welcome.
thanks
What is your goal? Are you wanting Lots of Tq for Touring or lots of Drag Strip High end Hp?
Also do you have a Dyno Sheet of what you now are running.

no...present setup has not been dyno tuned. however, I have found a local tuner (cycle therapy llc) that says he will tune it for $350 since I already have the PV. the bike runs great now with the FP3 map that I have sent to cheyne at V&H . i have downloaded it 3 times for him to look at and he has tweaked for me and it runs smooth. I will be using the PV for the new build. I think I will go ahead and have it dyno tuned like the bike sits to see if the tuner can tune better than the FP3 map. i also have a PV map from jamie for my build so i would also like to compare the two if the time and costs are not much more. i know FM have dyno tuned maps for my present set up and have supplied me with one so im just curious if ive been leaving power on the table by not trying it.
if the bike runs smooth after the dyno tune then I will proceed with the build and have them tune. if not, I'll probably have to rely on a tune from jamie.
that said...I'm looking torque, torque and more torque. I like to shift at ~3K.
thanks for the reply

I am on my second season on a 107 build. 126tq and 116hp. Lunati cam the actual number of the cam slips me at the moment but it also has headwork but nothing done to the bottom end and it is smooth as glass. Pulls very hard from 2g up.

I almost hate to be the one to say it, but if you like to shift at 3K, you should learn how to use your motor. If you get a BB kit, you will be throwing a lot of money away if you continue to shift at 3K.
With those parameters being set then, I'd just do a 570-2 cam and tune it. Will give you all the TQ you need at 3K. Otherwise, IF you decide to get crazy and shift 4K up, I'd just do a 107 with mild head work. Your crank should be fine, especially if you don't rev the p!ss outta your bike.
I still think with how you ride, you should just do the Stage 2 and get a proper tune.
*Edit: saw you already have a 222 cam. Get it tuned. Use the motor. You're not going to gain a ton of TQ under 3K with a 107 or even a 110 kit IMO to justify the money spent. But, if TQ is your thing, just stuff a 124" in there from S&S. Don't need to worry about the crank then.
Take a look at Kendell Johnson Racing. My uncle clued me into them and my uncle seems to know whats going on. Being a builder and a winning drag strip racer. Im sure there are dozens of like offerings but its something to look at.
