Default Intercom for Road Glide

I started looking for an intercom for my 2001 road glide. I thought I could get one that I could talk to my rider and then plug into my existing radio. I looked at the J&M units and searched this site and other for information on these and other units. I was more confused when my search for the J&M “JMCB-2003” unit came up with units that could be integrated into the electroglides radio but the J&M site did not list this unit. J&M said these were not popular and did not really work that well and said they may be coming out with new system but would not say when. Well if they don’t know I sure do not know. Is there a system out there that will integrate into the Harley radio? Maybe I should just keep this simple and go with the J&M Integratr.

It will be quite expensive to try retrofitting your RG with an intercom and/or CB capability. J&M does have a pretty good system, but they are still pricey. Check www.aerostich.com. They have pretty good selection of motorcycle communication systems.

randyv1 ,,,,,,

the JMCB-2003 unit will go right on your bike with the bracket for the Harley, rear antenna etcand give you CB, intercom and NOAA weather radio toJ&M helmet headsets ,,,,,,

then if you also want to bring the music from your factory radio into the headsets, thru the JMCB-2003, I can provide (at extra cost) an adapter cable that will do that ,,,,,,

take a look at the JMCB-2003 page at www.jmcorp.com and you will see what you need ,,, you can even download the owners manual there ,,,,

please let us know how we can help ,,,, JMJOHN ,,, john@jmcorp.com ,,,,,,

Thanks for the information on the JMCB-2003 as when I called I did not get that information and I asked specific questions. In the mean time I have been looking into upgrading my existing stereo to add the intercom and CB functions and will be getting that information from the original manufacturer customerservice@radiosound.com . I will have to add the center console part number (76331-98) but as my 2001 is already wired for it so that should be fairly easy, I hope. I will order the J&M headsets in either case. If anyone has added the CB and intercom functions to a 98 - 02 Road glide I would be interested in how it went and how much it cost.

I was going to suggest Autocom - I have tried other units - not good - then I found Autocom - NOT cheap by anymeans but they work and they work well - wife and I can talk at freeway speeds running Rineharts true duals (if that helps)
