engine Shut off
There is no electrical or mechanical reason to use the kill switch,I got in an argument on this issue a while back,I use it all the time as force of habit, you dont have to whatever floats your boat...
Take it for what it's worth.
Dealer told me to use the bar mounted kill switch to turn off the bike, it depressurizes the gas tank.
As for me, I never use the "key" switch to turn off a bike and that has been my habit for 30 years...dirt/street/track/etc.

I have been told to use the bar moutned kill switch but i always park in neutral (irritates me when people park in gear) and usually shut the ignition off two doors down form my house when pulling in at home......

Probably takes the load off the contacts in the ignition switch.

Last MSF course I took advised to use the Kill switch to turn the bike on/off. They had a reason for it, but I've slept since then. I just do it now out of habit.
