Fogging up is the main problem with full face helmets. I've been told using RainX can stop it from happening but, I've never had one to test it. I have been wanting to get one that the whole front of helmet lifts up but, just waiting to have the money to buy one.

Snell standards are one heck of a “minimum requirement“. Few helmets can meet it, including most full faced helmets.

I’m not all pro-modular, not by any means. But by no means are all full faced helmets better than any modular helmets. There’s a lot of full faced junk out there. As well junk modular.

There is also good out there, in both types.

But I bought it because I’m trying to force myself to wear a helmet. Riding without one is almost like an addiction. Hard hard habit to break.

Since I use the stock 15 Road Glide Special windshields my FF in effect is my winshield. When I open my visor I get clean direct air, when it’s closed I get a very quiet ride with earplugs. The dark smoke Shoei face shield cuts down helmet heat substantially. I have 3 windshields and honestly can’t stand it when it my helmet is not in clean air. I think if people paid for the comfort of premium helmets more would wear them. Not wearing is also a Harley thing for whatever reason. Grow a goatee, slap on a bandana, get a loud set of pipes and say look at me I’m a bad *** hog rider. Sounds silly but it’s true. To me they look like clones lol. I like the convenience of not having to wear, I just can’t find any benefits of not wearing and guess that’s why I strap it on every ride. Safe travels.

If you want the lightest Modular... Research the " agv sport modular "

There are only a few quibbles depending on your wishes. I am going to try one on and if it fits right I am buying it! Not the cheapest, but a damn fine helmet but has great reviews for airflow and how quiet it is.

I bought a Biltwell Gringo 2 years ago because I loved the retro look. Its a lot lighter than I ever expected and very comfortable. I wear it mainly for long trips and in the colder weather. Would definitely buy another.

I really wanted to have a Shoei RF1200, but Shoei's just do not fit my head. I've tried and tried, but they just aren't round enough. I REALLY wanted a Schuberth C3Pro, but once again, didn't fit my head correctly (my wife has the C3Pro Women's and loves it). I've tried a few others over the years, but most recently decided to plop down the cash for an Arai. I LOVE my new Quantum X! Fantastic fit, comfort, airflow and safety, plus my Sena 20S fits like a champ on/in it.

Like others have stated, you can spend $1,000 on a helmet, but if it doesn't fit your head just right, you'll hate it.

And don't dismiss the option of changing cheek pads (if your helmet allows this change). I've liked my Shoei GTAir, but it was so tight on my cheeks that I would develop scrapes in the inside of my mouth. I presumed the cheek pads would compress over time, but lost patience waiting for that to happen. I purchased the next size down cheek pad set, my helmet now fits so much better and I went from liking to loving this helmet. Switching the pads was literally like getting a new helmet.

Great advice. I should have mentioned that part too. My Arai has different size cheek pads than what came stock

I very much like my Shoei GTAir [below] but prefer a modular - so a Shoei Neotec is on my wishlist.

Love that design on your Shoei, was that a stock graphic helmet?

Yep, stock design right off the shelf. My best recollection is it was called "gear [something]".
