I heard that one time a fucy came out from a store ans someone. Swapped their old winshield for someones newer one. Lol
Use a metal zip ty and just make it difficult for them ans you will be fine.

That sucks. Good to find a way to change from "Quick Release" to "It comes off if you know the trick".
Not to hijack, but there are quick fixes to trick out new model pickup truck tail gates, too. People are stealing them left and right, and some replacements can exceed a thousand dollars!

I drilled a hole through the brackets on each side, goes through both pieces, and use 1/4" bolts with nylock nuts. You need two wrenches to remove the bolts.
Avoids the quick swap/theft but easy enough for me to remove when needed.
