Default Headset half dead 2017 RG Ultra
Im new here, so sorry if I did not see this somewhere else. Anyway, I have a 2017 RG with a new, still in the box Headset OEM from HD. I put all the happiness in my helmet today and plugged the umbilical into the bike. I was mostly successful getting the blue tooth going but the system only works halfway. I called my GF and she cannot hear me. I can hear her. Hmmmm, any ideas? Thanks

Just a guess … did you set the VOX for the headset mic?

Check the connector that plugs into the base do the helmet rim. The connector does not do a good job and mine has a habit of coming loose. It sounds like you might have a poor connection.

can you hear music or the intercom?

Check the bike volume for the phone. You have to set volume for the radio, phone, intercom, navigation etc. seperatly

My mistake, apparently VOX only applies to the Voice activated Intercom settings and Not the phone.

Have you checked your owners manual?! If you don't have one you can probably down load one on the H-D website. Go to the Owners tab, then Maintain.

There not the best out there double check all your settings place your microphone close to mouth and speak loud and clear. Its just something to have to get use too takes a lot of weaking.

Well, I tried from the begininng again last night, and it works! I dont know what I did different, thats the bad part. Always feel better when one discovers the root cause. Anyway, thanks for the helpful tips, Im all up and running (and talking).

Lots of electronic stuff follows the Microsoft model - we just have to keep rebooting it until it wakes up!
