OK... I will give it that it has been extremely HOT here in the Northern Virginia area, however, I still think my bike is running too HOT...
2010 Ultra Limited (103ci) w/ Rinehart 2-into-1 Exhaust, Rinehart Moto Series Inverted Air Cleaner, and PC5 (running DynoJet's 15-011-086 tune).
When I ride I95 @ 75-80mph my right calf still feels like its gonna catch fire. If I get off the interstate and hit a traffic light right at the end of the exit ramp, the bike kicks the rear cylinder off immediately...
Any thoughts or assistance with tuning or cooling her down? I am running Mobile1 V-Twin in all 3 holes...
Lowers are wide open (thought about removing them for more air flow in the summer)… Also thought about removing the mid-frame heat deflectors to allow heat more room to escape instead of being redirected to my leg...
Is this a new to you bike, or have you had it for a long time? If you've had it for a while, do you experience this as a change, meaning it used to be ok and now its hot?
I have only owned her for a year... Didn't get to put many miles on her since I bought her... Only about 4000 miles...
I got her with Stock pipes and 21500 miles and swapped them out to Rinehart Classic True Duals (rear cylinder comes out on left side of bike under seat)... Put about 3500 miles on the Rinehart Classic True Duals and I ditched them over the winter for the 2-into-1 due to safety reasons (small kids + hot rear header next to their foot = no Bueno)... This year has been a bad riding year... only put about 500-700 miles on the 2-into-1... but have realized that it seems to be hotter then it was before on my leg (which could be because the header is right there now)…
Sorry... Sounds like I'm rambling… Just wondering if anyone with a similar set-up has a custom tune that I can give a shot at...
However, with the true duals she never really kicked into parade mode which is what's making me think she's running hotter...
Another thing you might want to consider is ditching that PCV for a Power Vision. I had trouble getting my bike tuned with the PCV and that included a $400 Dyno tune (which turned out to be a complete waste of money). The Power Vision quickly got my bike running better that it ever has.
I don't know about your tuning but I will say that when I ran that pipe my right leg was always hot. Always. I finally removed it for an OEM header with no Cat. Way better...
2013 RK 103 with Power Commander V stage 1 D&D Fatcat 2-1. It's HOT in Las Vegas so when dyno tuned we made sure it wasn't going to run lean. Can feel the heat, not getting burned, in stop and go but not when cruising. Still getting 41MPG which isn't great but not a shrimp on the barbie. LOL
11RK, decat, FM Jackpots, Jeavy BreatherB rea.....cool as can be. VIED'S even kept it cool. I'd say look at your tune, something has to be out of whack.
