Zippers recommends .002-.004 clearance, and has oversize pins if needed.
One thing you can try... the flats on the lifters are not always ground evenly from side to side. Try turning the lifter around & measure again

Interesting, thanks for that....the clearance between the pin and lifter is good I think; it was side to side movement I have, not sure if that is an issue?
I meant to ask as well, the S&S lifters came pre-soaked in oil, assume this is just assembly lube that I don't need to clean off or anything?
I think the OP means side to side movement of the pins... I don't think a little matters.

Really frustrating today also as the pushrod kit arrived.....or not as the case may be; I only got pushrods! Ordered this https://www.harleycustom.co.uk/produ...-93-5122/42209 from AR Harley in the UK and it was only the rods, not as the listing would describe!! I think they've screwed up the listings :-(
Don't see any problem with those pins, that side to side is not an issue. As to the pushrod problem, just go to the H-D dealer and get the Screamin Eagle pushrods. I use the straight ones, not the tapered, and they work great and come with the proper tube parts to make them easy to install and adjust. You can get the tapered also, they just cost more and unless you have high lift cams they really aren't needed.
