Amazon stay aways?
For example, I needed to find sealed passing lamps for my '03 Heritage, since the MoCo no longer makes them. I found some on Amazon with free shipping, and a good price. The picture showed it had both screw and spade terminals, just like OEM. When I got it, it had screw terminals, but no spade terminals. I didn't feel like modifying my OEM wiring (which had spade terminals) and requested a refund, reason: item not as described. I described the problem, and they sent me a return label and promptly refunded my money when the item was delivered to the vendor.
Amazon has always been quick to respond to any concern or to handle any order problems. I use them quite frequently. I joined Amazon Prime, and what I save in shipping is way more than the cost of the Prime membership. Additionally, as a prime member, I frequently get free 2-day shipping... But I always shop around, even with the free 2-day shipping, Amazon is not always the best deal......
I don't know about any employee issues, but I had a nephew work at an Amazon warehouse. He was well-paid, had good benefits, and had a few promotions during his tenure there. He decided to resign (I told him not to resign until he had another job, but what do I know...), to look for a job closer to home. He hasn't found an equivalent pay/benefits/opportunity warehouse job since he left Amazon.....
Do not assume Amazon will always have the best price, sometimes they don't. Gotta shop around!
Last week I had a trim motor go bad on a boat. All Mercury dealers I could find online wanted over $300 plus shipping for one over the counter, Amazon had one $115 with free 2 day shipping and no tax. Got it, installed it, back on the water again.
To the OP: You got to shop around, and know what you are ordering. If there is a problem, call them, they will work with you.
I keep a wish list on there of things, and from time to time they may go on sale and I take it.
All kinds of ways to play the Amazon game. And, with the Amazon Chase Visa, you get 3% cash back rewards on all Amazon stuff you buy with it!
1) they steal so much intellectual property from the US that I dont want them to benefit from that
2) I question the quality of their products

1. If an item doesn't have at least a dozen or so reviews, perform additional due diligence if the item is pricey.
2. If the item is less than four stars, consider something else. If it's not at least 3 stars, don't even think about it.
3. Promptly confirm that what you got is what you wanted and is working properly.
How in the hell a person can fault Amazon for a delivery service's inability to find you is beyond me.
