How's it going all. I'm in need of some tips on lighting up my ultra. I saw a discussion on it..this guy on the forum legendzzz was giving some great tips. Thanks for the help.
If you want anything noticeable, pull the lowers and the tourpak. Otherwise I just don't see any real weight to drop. Even a lithium battery, I just don't see the weight there being significant enough to warrant.
The best way for most of us to lighten the load on our motorcycles is for the humans to loose weight. Other than that, the Ultra's have too many "comfort" or "touring" features to lighten significantly. Compare the difference between a RoadKing and the Ultra. Maybe the Road Glide weight? Is there 100 pounds difference?
Ditching the tour pack around town is about the only thing that you’ll really notice. It’s a pretty significant difference. Other than that, it’s a Harley touring bike, it’s freakin heavy.
Just how determined are you with this ambition?! Carbon-fibre wheels serious? Ditto brake rotors, etc. How much are you going to give us to spend......
I did read on here that a tour pack with lights, speakers, etc is 53 Lbs
And its weight up high (unlike most of us)
My 02 Classic had the Qk detach TP. I only rode it once with that on there. Probl 30 lbs
for the plain jane. Still slightly noticeable. And they do catch a little more side draft.
