If I recall correctly the torque for these bolts on my 2009 was 35-40 Ft lb. It's the same P/N bolts on the 2019 as the 2009. So I'm thinking this torque value is too high. So I split the difference and torqued them to 50 Ft lbs.
Now I'm wondering how many other mistakes are in the freaking manual.....geez eh....
Seems excessive for a standard pitch bolt. Mine are at 38 ft/lbs with blue Loctite. If they were fine pitch, like lug nuts, I would be more likely to agree.

I suggest contacting the factory and asking them.

There was a big pissing match on the Indian forums regarding the factory recommended front tire pressure for one of the Chief models. It appeared in the factory service manual and on the neck data plate and guys were still saying it had to be wrong. Even most dealer mechanics were disagreeing with it. Finally a mechanic at my dealer asked about it while he was at the factory finishing up his certification. It turns out that the Dunlop rep was there as well. Both the factory engineers and the Dunlop rep confirmed the pressure recommendation in the manual is correct. There are still some shade tree experts that refuse to believe it however.

Shock bolt is 1/2-13 and probably patched. Shock bolts looked to be grade 5 so by the markings,, This calculator says 63 recommended and 84 max.. What sets the max TQ is the material bolt is going into. The frame is most likely 1018 steel with a yield around 53700 psi.
