I may be wrong, but you probably need to move the fluid from the master cylinder through the ABS module to the calipers instead of going from the calipers through the ABS module to the master cylinder. You'll need a Mighty Vac or something similar. This is all guesswork on my part since I've never replaced a brake line before. I've only flushed the brake fluid and that's the procedure and tool I use.

This is a proven method when replacing a line for a bar swap as it wont introduce any air into the ABS module. cap off the MC and bleeder open sufficiently to pass fluid? Once the air bubbles stop in the MC your golden. weird its not working, bleeder not drilled? connected to the right side caliper? ( note ) When you open the bleeder, you will get some air bubbles raise into the syringe, flicking the syringe with your finger until all the bubbles are gone, only then its safe to inject the fluid.
When you "fill the syringe", are you not pulling the fluid into it? If you are filling the syringe by taking the plunger out and then get air between the plunger and the fluid, it's very difficult to push the fluid through. It will go, just slowly.
I did it the same way (filled the syringe and the hose) and opened the bleeder up and squeezed. I was expecting it to take longer but it didn't! I had it spraying out all over the place!! Good thing I had it all covered...
My bad I had a small piece of cardboard wedged under brake lever handle ( its used a shim per the instructions for replacing grips ) that I forgot about. I removed it and every thing went as planed.
