bought a RK a few weeks ago and she has beach bars on her,i want to go back to oem king bars, beach bars are wider but oem's have more pullback..so question is do you guys think I really need to change out cables..thanks
Most likely not. And if you need the extensions, most HD dealers carry them in stock.
I just put Klock Werks 2+2s on my Limited. So thats 2 up & back. The stock cables just needed to be set free from all thier zip ties to give me planty of play.
What year is your Roadking Dave? If it's a cable throttle bike (not TBW) Harley has a Roadking High handlebar part no.55954-00 which has a similar shape overall to the oem bar but it is a tad higher but not as high as a Heritage bar. It is wider across the base than the Heritage bar again resembling an original type RK bar. It is both a good looking handlebar (chrome not stainless) as well as a very comfortable bend and it may fit nicely with your existing cables and brake line length. Just a suggestion for ya..
I have an 05 RK Classic..I've checked out the bars u listed ..Already And a FEW MORE !!!..and I keep going back to the RK oem's ..found a couple on e-bay and a pair of Heritage softail bars ..I like the rk classic oem bars just the right height and pullback for me.(i'm 5'9)…..thanks for your advice and input..i just don't want to have to spend money on cables.and labor if cables are to long..thanks again !
