Shinko 777's on FLHTCU
Im looking to get rid of the dunlop tires and give something else a shot. Ive been doing some reading on the Shinko 777 and would like to know if anyone has had any experience here. Im also looking for the size conversion for this tire but am having some trouble figuring out the size in the shinkos...I dont wanna get the wrong size and play the return game.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Need to know what year the bike is in order to determine size. I've never personally experienced them, however I did have a customer bring in some to be installed. Definitely a softer "stickier" tire. Not sure how this translates to wear and longevity however. I personally prefer the Commander IIs and the American Elites.

Had them on my Road King. Excellent handling, wet or dry, and road feel. Front seems to be lasting half of forever, rears gone at maybe 4500 or so. By the time I figure the nuisance of pulling the wheel, getting the tire installed (which costs, I'm too old and lazy to be yanking on tire irons on tubeless), putting the wheel back on, etc, I went with Avon Cobra. Handles great, and ar 3500, I can't notice the wear.

All the major tyre brands make suitable tyres for us, so there is plenty of choice. Given long enough there will be comments in here from supporters of every one of them! My own favourites are Avons and I've been using them on my Harleys since the '70s. Got them on all three of my V-twins at present - plus one of our 4-wheelers!

Burned through two of them last year on my 2000 FLHTCUI. Got about 4500 each out of them. For the price paid (about 15-20 bucks cheaper), IMHO they are not worth the reduced lifetime. I now have a Michelin Commander on the rear, and hope to get much better mileage out of it. Hell the half worn Dunlop on the bike when I bought it, I got nearly 6k out of, so do the math. yours takes a wider (and higher load rated tire) so that may translate into better mileage, but for those poor saps with a 130 rear tire (mt90-16), dont waste your time.
