Ok one more tip When you get the beast to your house, air it up after assembly.... it's a whole lot easier to move around that way than 6" off the ground.

I have the direct lift with the side extensions also, you mentioned moving it around in the upright position? mine came with a two wheeled dolly for moving it around the shop and it works great! didn't yours come with one I am pretty sure it was supposed to? I don't currently have a photo of it but I can take one if you want to see what it looks like

with extensions

without extensions
It did come with the dolly, but it's still easier to move around in the raised position... more leverage. My dolly still has the packaging wrapping on it lol.

One more benefit of the side extensions.... the cross tubes make dandy cheater bars for things like busting a comp nut loose

Ok guys, one more question regarding the different tables I'm looking at. The 1000# tables I'm looking at all have diamond plate. The 1500# tables are all smooth plate. Just curious how much the diamond plate actually helps with traction.

for me I don't know if it really is a traction thing or not but I suppose it does help, but I have had a smooth surfaced one in the past and I have noticed that the one I have now with the diamond plate surface I like because things don't roll off as easily such as sockets and other round objects you may lay on it while working on your bike

https://www.nhproequip.com/pro-1200-motorcycle-air-lift. This is what I have with the side extensions. I don’t have any traction concerns.

To me the extensions are a must have. Maybe I have monkey arms but don't have a problem reaching over them to do anything and I've done a lot of work on my bikes and others.

I bought side extensions for riding my Ultra Classic up on the lift... my short legs need them to be able to stable the bike at the peak....

Once the bike is on the lift, and I am working on it, the extensions tend to be in the way, more than help anything. Most times I just work around them, because they are a pain to remove/store/replace.... There have been several times I absolutely needed to remove one or more to get the work done.

When I built my little work shop, the guy who I helped to build it, offered to make a "pit" to sink the lift into the floor. Sadly, at the time, I wasn't sure which lift (dimensions) or exactly how I was going to lay out the shop..... If I ever have the opportunity again, I WILL sink the lift into the floor....!

I've seen several of your shop pics in various threads. This is the first from this angle, love it.

Well, I just ordered an HMC 2482.

It was a few hundred more than I was planning on spending but it is Made in USA and the warranty far surpasses any of the non-American brands. The frame and table top are lifetime and the rest is 3 yr (video says 1 but website says 3, I will go with the 3). I did not get the side extensions as I plan to make my own once it arrives. I went with the orange top because I decided I actually want the smooth top as it will be easier to clean up the oil splatter, I can't seem to change oil on any vehicle without doing so, than the textured tops would be (each color top is textured differently). She said it would be 2-3 weeks for delivery as they now need to assemble it, pack it and load it on a truck. Once it arrives I will post up my initial thoughts as I don't see much around here on the HMC lifts.

JB, you will be more than happy with that lift. I bought the 2482 from HMC too. After I bought the lift I became friends with the owner of the company as I don’t live to far from their plant and I can tell you you will not find a company that is more proud of what they build and will stand behind it. If you need anything relating to that lift feel free to shoot me a PM and I can get you taken care of. I’m happy to hear that your keeping your business with a company that still builds their products in the US. Not many left any more.

CyGlide, Yeah, he seems like he is a good guy, I've heard a few testimonials about dealing with him. Lisa, the very helpful lady I spoke with said he was in TX or CA right now, can't recall which is current and which is next on the trip, as he travels with Easy Rider this month. Had the shop been on the west side of Iowa I would have driven out and hauled the lift back with me but they are about 3 hrs further than I am willing to sit in a car for 1 day. Appreciate the offer of assistance, I will definitely take you up on it if I have any questions or issues once it arrives. I can't wait, this 2-3 week period is going to drag.
